ResumeTailor is a Chrome extension, operated by Esdi Soft, that tailors your resume to a job posting you are viewing. This page explains what data we handle and why.
What we collect
- Account: your Google account e-mail address and name, used only to sign you in and keep your credits.
- Your resume: the file you upload is converted to text and stored so you don't have to upload it again.
- Job postings: when you click "Tailor", the text of the job posting on your current tab (or text you paste) is sent to our server. The extension reads a page only when you open the side panel or click "Read this page".
- Results: tailored resumes and cover letters you generate, so you can download them again.
- Purchases: payments are processed by Paddle (our merchant of record). We receive the order ID and the number of credits bought; we never see or store your card details.
We do not collect your browsing history, and we do not read pages other than the job posting you choose to tailor to.
How we use it
Only to provide the tailoring feature: your resume and the job posting are sent to OpenAI's API to generate the tailored resume and cover letter. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the processors listed here.
Processors
- OpenAI (AI processing, United States)
- Paddle (payments)
- Google (sign-in)
- IONOS (server hosting)
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept until you delete it. Open the side panel and click Delete my data to permanently remove your account, resume and tailoring history. Purchase records are kept as required for tax and accounting, without your resume content. You can also ask us to delete your data by e-mail.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
